Trying to find an activity to cure the "wintertime cabin blues?" There is something magical about walking on a frozen lake, drilling a hole, sitting on a bucket or in a shanty while holding your fishing rod over that hole and waiting for the bobber to go under. Tap. Tap. Fish on! An ice angler may catch perch, walleye, blue gill, pumpkinseed sunfish, northern pike, tiger muskie and out of season large and small mouth bass (remember to catch and release if you do). East and West Twin Lakes are in town but with approximately 40 surrounding lakes; most with public access like Little Wolf Lake, Big Bear Lake, Tee Lake, and Pickerel Lake; less than 10 miles from town you are sure to find a "hot spot" for your venture into the outdoors. So, bundle up the kids, grab your ice fishing gear and head for one of Lewiston's many area lakes to make some frosty memories and maybe bring home dinner!
